Sub-process 4 - Add Package Types

Introduction

• Type Code: The package type code can be found under https://api-portal.dachser.com/codelist or the customer has already received a list from DACHSER Sales.
• Description: The description for the package type code can be found under https://api-portal.dachser.com/codelist or the customer has already received a list from DACHSER Sales.

Purpose

For each delivery, BC must inform DACHSER, which type of package will be used, although this information will not be printed on the shipping label. This information is for DACHSER's internal management. Without this information, requests from BC cannot be accepted and processed by DACHSER.

How to enter a new package type

Option 1 Manual

The users can enter the type code and description manually.

(1) Enter the Type Code (2) Enter the Description

Option 2 Import

The users can also use the import function to import package types. Please prepare the CSV file according to the following format.

(1) Name the CSV file with "DACHSER_PackageTypes" (2) Fill in the package type codes in column A (3) Fill in the description for package type codes in column B (4) Name the sheet with "DACHSER_PackageTypes"

After the CSV file has been prepared, it can be uploaded in BC.

(1) Click on "Import Package Types" (2) Upload the CSV file

Attention

• Please only use the division name, product code, product name, and description, which are provided by DACHSER.
• If DACHSER has updated its division name, product code, product name, and description, please update your setup accordingly.
• Please involve all the division names, product codes, product names, and descriptions, which you will use.
