Although the information on package weight, maximal package length, maximal package weight, etc. will not be printed on the shipping label, DPD requires this information for their planning. Therefore, BC must provide information on package weight so that API requests from BC can be accepted and processed by DPD. If this information is incomplete or missing, it will lead up to an error message during API requests and the shipping label cannot be printed.
If the height, width, length, and weight have already been defined in the item attributes (see Master Data Preparation), only one step is left: Fill the rest of the fields under Properties
(1) Fill the maximal package length in CM. The user needs to ask the DPD account manager for this information. (2) Fill the maximal package weight in KG. The user needs to ask the DPD account manager for this information. (3) Fill the maximal girth in CM. The user needs to ask the DPD account manager for this information.
The user can also fill in the properties on the DPD Setup page. In case the item attributes are not defined, the package weight defined under properties will be forwarded to DPD.
