Sub-process 1 - Define Shipping Agent Services

Purpose

The code, which is defined on the page "Shipping Agent Service Setup", will be used to create the sales order to define the shipping time. The shipping time will influence then the receiving date of the customer.

How to add a code

(1) Here the user can enter any desired code for his convenience. (2) The user must give a short description of his code.
(3) The user must define a shipping time for this code. Attention: Please only use the time units of Business Central (D for Day(s), W for Week(s), M for Month(s), Q for Quarter(s), and Y for Year(s)). (4) If a base calendar is chosen, only the working days will be involved in the calculation of the delivery date. Usually, Saturday and Sunday are treated as regular nonworking days in a base calendar.

• There is also a field Base Calendar Code on the Vendor Card. In case the base calendar on the Vendor Card is different from the base calendar in shipping agent services, the base calendar on the Vendor Card has priority.

(5) The customized calendar is used to define other nonworking days, such as national/regional holidays besides Saturday and Sunday.

• Users can also define shipping agent services during the setup of each shipping agent service code.
